Once you‘ve decided on the basic layout for your kitchen, then you‘ll need to think of what appliances you‘re going to put in there. You‘ll need to make sure that there is enough room in your kitchen for the refrigerator and oven – and probably a dishwasher as well. Therefore, once you have a general idea of where you want to put your appliances, you should decide exactly which ones will be put in.
No worries, online programs even let you rotate your plans so you see your kitchen from 360 degrees. You‘ll notice instantly that the island that looks so perfect in the corner is actually blocking the path from the sink to the stove. In fact, online planning will take into account the “work triangle” that ensures almost always the most optimized kitchen floor plan. You won‘t make the mistake of locating the sink far from the stove again.
To eliminate traffic issues in this type of kitchen design, one entry is often closed off. This type of layout should only be used by one cook. If you want to maintain both exits, place the refrigerator near the end of the galley kitchen for easy access -this way, your family and friends can reach the refrigerator without interfering with the person who is cooking.
